Lycium fruit is a popular and fantastic little treat of the Earth. Commonly referred to as “Go-ji fruit” or Goji Berry, Lycium fruit is known by Woflberry Fruit and Matrimony fruit. These red little fruits are not only an important herb, but a tasty food.
Entering the Liver, Kidney, and Lung meridians, Lycium Fruit primarily tonifies Liver and Kidney Yin and is used in many tonics. Lycium fruit is neutral in energy as has a light moistening action but will not cause stagnation like some tonic herbs. It is sweet and incredibly nutritious and can be used both as a medicinal and a sweet snack during hard training. The ground herb can also be applied externally to remedy burns, redness, and swelling.
