Warming Herbal Foot Soak

This warming Chinese foot bath is based on Tom Bisio's formula recommended in A Tooth From The Tiger's Mouth. This Chinese foot bath strongly increases circulation to drive Cold and Damp out of the injured tissue and reduce pain in the affected area. This soak should be used for tendon injuries where the muscle, joint, or connective tissue is stiff, painful and sensitive to cold.  Useful for easing the pain of foot and ankle strains and pains, plantar fasciitis and bone spurs, etc. (If using to support symptoms of plantar fasciitis, we strongly recommend that you tape the heels in between soakings. If you don't know how, check out this video by a professional and this one by a do-it-yourselfer.  You can also apply these stretching techniques.)

Warnings and Contraindications

Do no use if there is any residual heat or inflammation in the affected area.   If the Chinese foot bath makes the pain worse, there is likely still some inflammation present that requires the use of cooling herbs and, therefore, the warming soak should be discontinued. For external use only!

Usage Instructions

Add contents of the herbal foot soak to one gallon of water, heat to just below boiling for approximately 20 - 25 minutes. If you are experiencing spasms in the muscles and tendons or if you have bone spurs, add 2 cups of rice wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar to the soak after you have completed the heating process and have removed the mixture from the heat source.  If you have pain, you can also add an additional 1 or 2 cups of vodka to the soak after heating.  Keep soak refrigerated  between uses and reheat each time.

This single herb pack will make 1 soak that will last 7 - 10 days.
