Yan Hu Suo (Corydalis tuber); Corydalis Rhizome; Corydalis turtschaninovii Bess. F. Yanhusuo; Rhizoma Corydalis
Corydalis is one of the most commonly used and most effective herb in Chinese Medicine for pain relief as a result of Blood stagnation. When compared to morphine, Yan Hu Suo has shown a slower onset and weaker analgesic effect when given by injection. Evaluation of the analgesic effect based on weight showed Yan Hu Suo to be approximately 100:1 in effect by comparison to morphine, but Yan Hu Suo has not been associated with any dependency or addiction. Furthermore, development of tolerance happens approximately 100% faster with morphine than with Yan Hu Suo.
