The Shanghan Lun, or treatise on Cold Damage Diseases, is a part of a traditional Chinese medicine treatise from the Han Dynasty. What is the history of Qingfei Detox soup?

The following is the original composition of Qingfei Detox Decoction:

The twenty-one herbs above have been combined from the four classic prescriptions: Maxing Shigan Decoction, Wuling Powder, Xiao Chaihu, and Shegan Mahuang Decoction. These four formulas are from the “Treatise on Febrile and Miscellaneous Diseases,” written by Zhang Zhongjing. Zhongiing was a famous doctor in the Eastern Han Dynasty, who set a precedent for syndrome differentiation and treatment in traditional Chinese medicine.  After more than 2000 years of repeated practice of his principles, many more related works have been published in successive generations, and the outcomes of this practice through the generations since have proved its validity. The Qingfei Paidou Decoction formula looks complicated, but the recipe has been reliable through history and coming from the combination of Zhang Zhongjing’s classic prescription, it has been confirmed by time in terms of safety and effectiveness!
