Tian Ji Huang is the commonly used herb in Chinese herbalism to represent St Johns Wort, although other species of Hypericum are sometimes used (namely, Guan Ye Lian Qiao). Tian Ji Huang clears toxic heat, but more importantly stops bleeding due to its astringent nature, and dispels wind-damp conditions.
