Gua Lou Pi, the peel of Tricosanthes, is a phlegm-resolving herb, notably used for its action to clear the lungs of phlegm. However, its drying nature and cardiovascular action aids some dit da jow and iron palm formulas in clearing stagnant fluids at the site of injury and reducing inflammation.
