(Dragon Bone Herb); Os Draconis

Calcined Long Gu herb or Dragon Bone is sweet in flavor and neutral in energy, also having an astringent property. Entering the Liver, Heart, and Kidney meridians, Dragon Bone is said to "Anchor, Settle and Calm the Spirit", and as such belongs to a group of herbs that promote a calming, tranquilizing, or anti-anxiety effect. The use of this "herb" in martial arts, however, is likened to its apparent ability to strengthen bone due to its high calcium phosphate content.
