Properties

Bitter, cold

Channels Entered

Liver, large intestine

Therapeutic Actions

Purges downwards, clears Liver fire, and purges parasites

Common Dosage

0.6 to 1.5 grams in powder, capsules or pills. Decoction is not recommended as Aloe Vera powder is extremely bitter and has an unpleasant smell. Can also be applied to the skin as a poultice for inflammation, redness and itching.

Cautions and Contraindications

Lu Hui is contraindicated during pregnancy, and in cases of deficiency and cold of the Spleen and Stomach.
