Mu Zei (Shave Grass); Equisetum hiemale L.; Equiseti Hiemalis Herba

Mu Zei, commonly known as Scouring Rush, is in the category of exterior releasing herbs. While neutral in nature, it figures in as a wind-heat herb. Mu Zei also is used to stop bleeding and as such is found in the occasional dit da recipe, notably some of Hakka origin.

Mu Zei is sweet and bitter in taste, neutral in energy. Mu Zei enters the Lung and Liver meridians.
