Literally meaning "Sichuan Ox Knee", Chuan Niu Xi is very similar to Huai Niu Xi with the primary distinction that while Huai Niu Xi is a Liver and Kidney tonic first and foremost, Chuan Niu Xi is a Blood Invigorator first and foremost, and a Kidney tonic secondary.
Chuan Niu Xi is bitter and sour in flavor and neutral in energy. It enters the Liver and Kidney meridians.
