Pei Lan (Eupatorium); Eupatirum Fortunei; Herba Eupatorii
Eupatorium sits along side 2 or 3 other common herbs that are categorized as Aromatic Herbs that Transform Dampness, and, as such, are great for resolving damp or cold-damp stagnation. All are drying and damp-dispersing in action and for that reason show up on occasion in dit da jow formulas.
In addition to drying dampness in the middle warmer, Eupatorium is also good for clearing Summer Heat. It is acrid in flavor, and neutral in energy, making it versatile, and enters the Spleen and Stomach meridians.
