Si Jun Zi Tang; Four Gentlemans Herbs Decoction
A Chinese classical formula at its best, Four Gentlemans Herbs gets its name from the respect given to the 4 primary herbs used in this recipe. It is composed of a mixture of four important herbs for tonifying the body. A qi tonic at its core (versus the Dang Gui Four blood tonic), this group of herbs is fantastic for vitalizing the qi and boosting the energy levels of those who exert a great deal of physical effort. Perfect for intensive martial arts training, this Father formula greatly tonifies the Qi, and strengthens the Spleen and Stomach.
We have added 1 additional herb to this formula based on tried and true classical variation. With the addition of this 5th herb, Four Gentlemans Decoction will help to smoothly regulate the body's energy and aid in the healing of physical injury that is a result of rigorous martial arts training!
Ingredients
Codonopsis, Poria, White Atractylodes, Honey-Fried Licorice.
Preparation Instructions
To prepare, pour the ground Chinese herbs into a non-metallic pot with up to 1 gallon of water (less water produces a smaller amount of stronger tea). Bring to a boil, simmer for 40 minutes, and then strain the herbs. Store the tea in the refrigerator and drink 1/2 cup 2 times per day between meals. You can also add a small amount of honey to increase the tonic properties of the decoction, as well as for flavor. Alternatively, herbs can also be ground/crushed and added to honey to make small pills, which are then baked in the oven.
This product will last approximately 14 days. Prepare 1 bag during times of strenuous activity.
