Known as "Thorny Ginseng" due to the plants resemblance to a ginseng plant with thorns, Acanthopanax root bark is acrid with a warm energy. The bark of this root is a largely encouraged and popular herb in China, in part due to the influence of the herbalist Shih-Chen Li. Acanthopanax wine is readily available in China and is said to slow down the aging process, among other benefits.
Wu Jia Pi acts to dispel wind and dampness, and strengthen the tendons and bones.
Like Clematis, this herb is also classified as an herb that Dispels Wind and Dampness.

This is excellent quality. This acanthopanax tastes remarkably similar to hemidesmus (anantamul aka indian sarsaparilla). It has that strong vanilla/licorice coumarin flavor. I can't wait to stock up on this herb as it's one of my favorite flavors.
