Why Plum Dragon's Dit Da Jow Topical Pain Relief Works Better than Mainstream Solutions for Pain

Ho Family Dit Da Jow Bottle ImagePlum Dragon Herbs’ best selling topical pain relief formula is based on a Chinese herbal remedy known as the Ho Family Dit Da Jow. What is dit da jow? It is the Chinese term that literally translated means “hit fall wine” and has historically referred to an herbal formula that is aged in alcohol for a minimum of one year. This aging process results in an herbal topical analgesic that Chinese doctors and martial artists have used for centuries to treat traumatic injuries and provide topical pain relief.

The Ho Family dit da jow is based on an effective traditional Chinese dit da jow recipe that has been modernized based on modern scientific research. The result is an unparalleled solution for trauma injury, chronic injury and topical pain relief. The following video provides a basic explanation of how these herbal formulas work:

In order to more thoroughly explain how and why PlumDragonHerbs’ Dit Da Jow formulas work better than mainstream solutions for chronic injury and topical pain relief, it is important to clearly understand how the body's pain mechanisms work.

Understanding acute and chronic pain

In an acute injury situation, the pain experienced from a simple cut or bruise subsides relatively quickly relative to the amount of time these injuries take to completely heal. This is because your body produces endorphins and norephinephrine, its natural painkiller chemicals to help your body continue to function as close to normally as possible.  These painkilling chemicals are able to dull the pain signals relatively quickly to relieve your pain.

Unfortunately, acute pain can become chronic pain when repeated activation of pain receptors (called NDMA receptors) makes them more excitable and/or sensitive.  When this happens, the receptors require less input to receive a pain signal.

Why mainstream “solutions” can't solve the problem of chronic pain

When these receptors become hypersensitive in this manner, they will require ever-increasing amounts of input to dull this signal, so that over time your natural painkilling mechanism will exhaust itself trying to keep up with these oversensitive receptors.  The result of this is that your pain and inflammatory responses become chronic, and (after exhausting your natural painkilling reserves) your pain becomes increasingly resistant to conventional pain-relief methods and products.

This chronic inflammation can destroy your joints completely over time—and pain relievers (like NSAIDs and COX-2 inhibitors) are ineffective against this gradual degeneration. Although they may help somewhat with your chronic pain symptoms, ultimately, they are powerless to repair this biological pain receptor and joint damage.

Even if you could rely on pain-relieving drugs, they are known to have serious side effects.  COX-2 inhibitors like Vioxx and Celebrex) have been shown to cause an increased risk of heart attacks. NSAIDs (like ibuprofen and naproxen) can cause bleeding ulcers and do tremendous damage to your digestive system and kidneys.

Furthermore, these medicines are unable to keep the chronic inflammation from continuing to cause cartilage degradation and they have NO power to reverse the process.

If you have suffered with chronic injury and pain, then you probably already know the doctors will offer you little more in terms of a solution for this than dangerous medicines, side-effect laden immune-modulators like steroids or other marginally effective drugs or icy-hot analgesics.

Sadly, mainstream medicine’s contributions to chronic injury and pain have been ineffective and fleeting at best and highly addictive or even deadly at worst.

Erasing years of pain and healing injuries from the inside out

If you're reading this, then most likely you have already begun to explore more natural solutions for pain and injury treatment.  Maybe you have used supplements like glucosamine, chondroitin, or MSM that promises pain relief and support in joint regeneration. If so, maybe you are already noticing some improvement from these nutritional supports.

But, if you haven't really been able to achieve the results you are looking for—then Plum Dragon Herbs' Ho Family Dit Da Jow may be exactly the topical pain relief you have been looking for. The herbs that comprise this formula work synergistically to help soothe inflammation, reduce swelling, and boost circulation—thereby assisting in the formation of new cartilage.

Several of the herbs in the formula (Dang Gui, Fu Zi Zhi, and Chuan Xiong to name a few) have been shown in animal studies to act on receptors that are specific to chronic pain and calm overly excited nerves. As stated above, this action helps to restore normal pain responses, and, therefore, provides more effective, longer-term relief.

Customers who have used Ho Family Dit Da Jow have reported greater range of motion, decreased stiffness, and reduced pain as well as complete healing and recovery from traumatic and chronic injury and pain situations.  Many customers report feeling pain relief within as little as 20 minutes after the first application, and many of those who have used this formula systematically as directed for several weeks are able to heal the underlying injury that was causing their pain in the first place.

Bioactive Compounds

Many bioactive compounds are formed in the process of traditionally preparing and aging dit da jow formulas like the Ho Family Dit Da Jow. Using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GCMS), one study found the following partial list of bioactive compounds in dit da jow used for topical pain relief :

  • Acetic acid – antiseptic
  • Acetoglyceride – skin conditioner
  • Columbianetin – anti-inflammatory
  • Coumarin – anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, analgesic
  • Rhododenrol – increase skin elasticity
  • Vanillin – actibacterial
  • Chrysophanic acid – purported antibacterial and skin conditioning agent
  • Salicylic acid – antimicrobial, skin softener, treats superficial inflammation
  • Vasodialator – increases blood flow
  • Unknown large molecules – purported benefits to bone health

This combination of bioactive compounds is vey effective for treatment of impact trauma and pain. The combination of coumarin and salicylic acid, specifically, is especially potent for controlling inflammation and pain.

When this powerful synergistic blend is applied to the skin at the place of injury and pain, these bioactive compounds and herbal nutrition have been demonstrated to permeate into the body through the skin, into the subcutaneous tissue quickly after administration and to remain at the site of the injury for approximately an hour before being cleared away by the micro-blood circulation system.  This means that the nutritive mixture can have direct contact with the site of the injury and pain for nearly an hour before being moved away by the body.

Based on this evidence, we often recommend that the Chronic Injury and Pain Formula be applied several times within one hour 2-3 times daily for best results. In this way, the injured area can be literally saturated with nutritive bioactive compounds delivering potent healing to affected tissue. This is far more effective than ingesting oral supplements that have to make their way through the digestive tract and the blood stream only to be delivered in very small, diluted amounts to the injured area. And, this direct application of nutrition directly to the site of injury is also far superior to ingestion of pharmaceutical NSAIDs and Cox-2 Inhibitors that only mask pain signals and cause serious side effects.

Here’s what some of our customers have reported in the last month about their experiences using the Chronic Injury and Pain Formula (Ho Family Dit Da Jow):

"In 2010, I was involved in a serious auto accident that caused catastrophic spine fractures that required emergency fusion, that coupled with the removal of a rib to facilitate the fusion left me with unbelievable disc pain and left hip neuralgia. Thankfully, during my recovery I discovered your company and ordered a four ounce bottle of Ho Family Dit Da Jow, as well as enough herbs to make a gallon. It truly is a miraculous formula that actually relieved the nerve pain and sciatica as well as calming the nearly constant back and quad spasms. The relief was real and prolonged and I was able to share the Jow I made with other people who achieved similar results, (in fact, I gave all the rest away). It truly was a life saver and allowed me to sleep soundly through many nights that would have been horribly long without it."

“I am extremely satisfied with this product and will have no second thoughts recommending it to anyone. I am a runner in the process of training for a marathon. I get the normal aches and pains all runners experience but had noticed a more consistent aggravation in my lower abdominal region. The pain was not enough to make me stop training, but had grown steadily worse over a 6-week period. I tried exercising my core muscles more and changed my stretching routine but to no avail. This product was recommended to me from a family member and over a two week period of applying twice a day, the issue is completely gone. In the process I also strained my hamstring while running long distance in extreme cold. I used this product on it too and I was able to continue training quickly, pain free. I found this product extremely effective and will continue to have a supply on me to assist in healing to keep my training flowing along. I'd recommend it everyday of the week and twice on Sunday!!”

"I am a HUGE Ho Family Dit Da Jow fan. I first learned about jow while training traditional Shaolin Gong Fu and I've yet to come across a better recipe. I recently dislocated and fractured my ankle, and ruptured the ligaments. It was a pretty serious injury that would normally take months to heal. I decided to remove my plaster splint early and began massaging the jow into it every day. I still have a week to go before I'm technically supposed to get the splint removed and I'm already up and walking! I am able to practice yoga and nearly all of the stiffness is gone in the ankle. This is a none short of a miracle!! Thank you Plum Dragon for offering such amazing herbal recipes, I am so grateful for the healing!"
